With hockey resuming following the Christmas break, Boxing Day will see the GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison in National League action, when they welcome Swindon Wildcats to the Silverdome Arena, the game faces off at 5.30pm.

The following night both teams will face each other again, this time the venue will be the Link Centre in Swindon, with the game facing off at 6.00pm.

Wildcats comfortably hold 5th place in the National League table, with 31 points from 27 games, courtesy of 15 wins in regulation and 1 OT loss. This sees them 6 points behind 4th placed Steeldogs and 8 points ahead of Raiders in 6th.

Leading the points scoring for Swindon is import forward Tomasz Malasinski with 52 (24+28) while Player/Coach Aaron Nell, in his 13th season with the Wildcats, has 45 (17+28).

Games between the teams are naturally fast paced, high scoring affairs, with a fair degree of physicality. No doubt everyone in attendance on Monday will be treated to a cracker of an evening, if you pardon the pun.

While Bison Head Coach Ashley Tait and the team will have been disappointed with the final 20 minutes in Romford last Sunday, the previous 40, along with the entire 60 minutes against the Phantoms on Saturday showed a distinct improvement on recent performances and will give everyone renewed confidence heading into the Swindon double header.

Fans of the Stampede, have a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas Day, then it’s back to business on Monday night, you all know what’s required………..

Loud, Louder, Loudest
