We are pleased to welcome fans back to Planet Ice Basingstoke and really want to ensure fans feel confident, safe and relaxed whilst enjoying the thrill of live ice hockey once again.

Its important that we look out for each other and keep everyone safe in light of the past 18 months and the impact COVID-19 has had on our lives.

  • Have been identified as a close contact of a positive case and asked to self isolate by the NHS.
  • Have received a positive COVID test in the past 10 days.

COVID-19 TICKET GUARANTEE: If you cannot attend a game due to any of the above reasons, please contact us via email at hello@bstokebison.co.uk by 12noon on the day of the game with proof of a positive test or proof of self-isolation requirement. We will issue a voucher (no refunds) to be used at a future game so you can return when it is safe to do so.

FACE COVERINGS: Face masks / coverings are no longer a government requirement or law indoors and there are no restrictions currently to crowd capacity.

However the government do recommend that people continue to wear them to help keep themselves and others safe.

The Bison recommend that all fans attending a game should wear a face mask when walking around the arena and until you get to your seat, this is obviously down to each individuals preference, please be respectful of others.

SOCIAL DISTANCING: We’ll still be asking everyone to remain considerate and keep some distance between people when queueing in the common areas such as concession stands and toilets.

HAND SANITISER: Throughout the arena you’ll find hand sanitising stations, we encourage all fans to make use of these on your way to your seat and throughout your visit.

VACCINATION: There is no legal requirement currently to provide a negative test or provide proof of vaccination to enter the arena.

We would like all fans to be as safe as possible when attending games, so if you haven’t been “double jabbed” if you could take a voluntary lateral flow test prior to arriving then that would be appreciated.

DOORS OPEN: Doors open 1 hour before face-off.  We ask that you do not bring bags unless necessary. If you do bring a bag, it will be searched.

TEAM BENCHES: Due to COVID-19 protocols both team benches will be out of bounds for all fans before the game and during the period breaks.

MERCHANDISE STANDS: The Bison merchandise stand will be selling Bison merchandise and both card and cash payments will be taken as usual.

The trying on of garments for the foreseeable future will not take place in order to protect the safety of our match night volunteers.

PROGRAMMES: The Stampede Match night magazine will be back in production and available to purchase from the ticket table.

50/50 & SOTB RAFFLES: Our raffle sellers will be available in and around the rink and the ticket table will also be manned. The sellers all accept cash only.

CHUCK A PUCK & CHUCK A DUCK: All pucks & ducks will be sanitised prior to purchase.

For the foreseeable future the throwing of the ducks & pucks will take place at the double door where the ice machine enters the pad.

To stop congestion around the door area, we will also be splitting the chucking of the pucks and ducks – the ducks will be chucked at the end of the first period and the pucks at the end of the second period.

SOTB PRESENTATION: In the current climate the player we will not wear the shirt during the third period, a socially distanced presentation will take place on the ice with the player at the end of the game. We will review this presentation procedure at the beginning of October.

SIGNING TABLE: This week there will be no autograph table but we are expecting to put in place a social distance signing table from next weeks game versus the Phantoms.

CAFÉ & CONCESSIONS: All areas including the bar, rink side kiosk and hot dog stand will be open for business.

VENDING MACHINES: The majority of our vending machines accept card and cash  payment.

CARD PAYMENTS: The majority of the arena concession stands (food areas and bar) can take contactless payment and where possible we ask you to pay by card but if necessary, we will still accept cash.

OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINK:  No outside food or drink is allowed to be brought into the venue, unless required for medical or dietary purposes.

STAFF: All our staff and volunteers will be encouraged to wear face coverings.  Please respect them for working under these conditions.

Player, staff, volunteers and fans’ safety and protection, as ever, is paramount. It has been and continues to be a difficult time but we are confident of a positive return for the Bison and for ice hockey at the arena with your help, patience and continued brilliant support.
