With our first pre-season game facing off at 6.30pm this evening Coach Tait can confirm he has chosen his on-ice leadership team for the 2022 / 23 season.
Your new Basingstoke Bison Captain is none other than number 16 himself, George Norcliffe
Commenting on his appointment as Captain George said,
“It is an honour to be made captain this year, I am incredibly excited to lead this group”.
“We want to win, and I can promise that as captain I’ll be giving it my all and I know every single guy will be doing the same”.
“There is a long list of great captains for the Basingstoke Bison and I am really looking forward to the challenge of putting my name amongst them”.
“We have the best fans in the league who stand by us win or lose, Ash has built a great team this year, so I think we can all agree this is going to be an exciting season”.
George’s Assistant Captains will be Liam Morris and Zac Milton
Liam Morris commenting on his on appointment as an Assistant Captain for the Herd said,
“Its a huge honour to wear a letter for your hockey club. I’m grateful for the opportunity and incredibly excited to get the season underway”.
On his appointment as an Assistant Captain Zac Milton commented,
“It’s such an honour to be a part of the leadership role this year. I hope to help motivate the team on and off the ice to gain some silverware”.
Coach Tait commenting on his appointments of his leadership group said,
“I believe that these guys all have the respect of the room and play the game the right way. Both Mo and Norcs have been with me since I arrived and have grown into senior players and shown the qualities needed to wear a letter. Milts showed me that he can be a premier player in this league and I think he’s more than ready to handle the responsibility and provide the leadership I’m asking for”.
Fans of the Herd will be thrilled to read of these appointments, all 3 are well respected by their team mates and fan base alike, the example they set epitomises the Bison way, so we know the team leadership is in good hands.
