Petts at the double
As exclusively revealed earlier today in the Basingstoke Gazette the GalxC Cooling Services sponsored Basingstoke Bison are thrilled to announce that British forward Paul Petts has re-signed for the 2022/23 season.
25 year old, 6’ 0”, 76kg Petts is very much a Bison through and through, having played in Basingstoke since the 2011/12 season when he first iced for the Bison U16’s alongside current team mate Hallam Wilson, subsequently Paul made regular appearances for the U18’s, U20’s and the Buffalo before making his senior Bison debut in the English Premier League during the 2016/17 season.
Since that first senior game Paul has gone on to make a further 191 League, Cup and Playoff appearances in a Bison jersey, contributing 42 points (14+28), which adds up to a significant amount of experience for someone of his age.
Head Coach Ashley Tait had this to say regarding Petts re-signing,
“Paul definitely understood and grew into that 3rd line centre role last year and I’d like to see him develop that and keep improving. He keeps it simple and you know you’re getting an honest effort from someone who plays the right way”.
The player himself said,
“Really excited to be back for another year repping the bison colours, its been exciting week for me and I’m looking forward to being in front of all you noisy fans again, I’ll see you all in September!”
This week has been a double celebration for Paul as last weekend he became a Father for the first time, when his girlfriend Georgia gave birth to a healthy 8lbs 10oz baby boy, whom the couple have named Koa George Petts, everyone connected to the Bison sends their congratulations to the happy parents.
