Today is the start of the inaugural EIHA pride week. The GalaxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison are proud to join clubs across the EIHA portfolio of competitions to show our support for all in the LGTBQ+ community within our sport. Pride Week runs from the 7th-16th January.
The EIHA and the teams, players and staff of the NIHL and WNIHL are committed to making ice hockey a safe and inclusive sport for everyone involved – for athletes, coaches, officials, staff and fans alike.
As a sport we do not condone language or behavior that targets a person’s sexual orientation, gender identity or other protected characteristic; we will continue to challenge such behavior especially where it’s under the guise of ‘banter’.
We believe that ice hockey is for everyone and will continue to share this message of equality.
The Herd have allocated next Saturday 15th January 2022 as our Pride Game versus the Telford Tigers and over the next few days we be releasing a number of initiatives that supporters can get involved in the week ahead.
Who you love and however you identify, #WeAreFamily is more than a hashtag in Basingstoke. You are welcome. This space is your space and we’re proud to do our bit to show that hockey is for all.
