A welcome return to Adam Jones #2
The GalxC Cooling Services sponsored Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce our fourth signing of the weekend’s “Stampede to the Season is none other than defender Adam Jones has re-signed with us for the 2022/23 season, which will be his 3rd with the Herd.
26 year old, 6’ 2”, 92 kg Jones is a firm favourite with the fans of the Herd, mainly for his rugged no nonsense style of defending, but also for his willingness to stand up for his team mates when the situation calls for it.
Last season Adam was one of Coach Tait’s Assistant Captains and this season he will have added responsibility with him being added to the club’s Coaching Staff as an Assistant Coach.
During the 2012/22 season Adam made a total of 42 appearances, scoring 31 points (8+23) and earned himself 55 penalty minutes.
In the previous two seasons wearing a Bison shirt, he totalled 90 appearances, 74 points (18+56) and 163 penalty minutes.
The majority of goals scored during his time with us have been courtesy of a blue line howitzer, no doubt fans and teammates alike will be hoping for more of the same starting in September.
Although only 26, Jones has an impressive list of UK teams on his hockey CV, namely Telford Tigers, Swindon Wildcats, Guildford Flames, Belfast Giants and the Sheffield Steelers, where during the 2020/21 EIHL Series he made 10 appearances and played alongside his brother Sam.
Bison Head Coach Ash Tait said this about Adam’s signing,
“Jonesy is an integral part to this clubs d core and an important piece of the puzzle for us. He’s well respected within the room and with that in mind he will have additional coaching responsibilities that we can draw on and benefit from this season”.
Adam himself commented,
“I’m looking forward to be back playing in front of the noisy and passionates fans in Basingstoke look forward to seeing you all in September”.
