Next up for the GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison, is a National League double header against the Swindon Wildcats.
The first of these is a Boxing Day meeting at the Link Centre in Swindon, face off is 2.00pm, with the home return fixture at the Silverdome on Monday evening, face off for this game will be 6:30pm.
Swindon currently head the league standings by 6 points, having won 14 of the 18 games played, the 4 loses include 3 in overtime, giving them 31 points. Leading scorer for the Wildcats is player/coach, Aaron Nell with 33 points (15+18) from 18 games, followed by their Czech Import , Emil Svec on 28 points (19+9).
Whilst their attack naturally attracts the majority of the plaudits, the job done by Swindon’s defence certainly is worthy of recognition, back stopped by Rene Marr (91.8) and Dean Skinns (91.7) they form the tightest defence in the National League, conceding just 47 goals in 18 games. To put that into some context, 2nd placed Telford, have 58 conceded from 20 games.
No doubt Ash, Tosh and the team will know what’s required of them and be prepared for the challenges ahead.
Despite results last weekend, the continued improvement in the Bison’s performances was apparent for all to see, without doubt fans of the Stampede will be ready to support the team as they look to return to winning ways.
Here’s wishing the players, staff, volunteers and supporters, a very Happy Christmas.
Remember, the 25th is the day for eating and drinking, responsibly of course, whereas the 26th & 27th are for being Loud, Louder and Loudest.
