The Trane Basingstoke Bison are pleased to announce the signing of British forward Zach Milton for the 2021 / 22 season.
20-year-old, Milton who is 6’ 0” tall, weighs in at 85kg and shoots left-handed, spent his formative hockey years with the Slough Jets, progressing through the junior age groups before moving to Bracknell in the 2016/17 season where he initially appeared for the Drones. Between 2016 and 2019 Milton made numerous appearances for the Bracknell Hornets, Drones and Stingers.
During the 2018/19 season Zach made his debut for Bracknell Bees in the NIHL 1, playing a total of 38 games, scoring 11 goals with 7 assists.
The 2019/20 season saw him establish himself as a Bees regular, making 44 appearances, scoring 9 goals with 30 assists, whilst 77 penalty minutes showed a healthy physical edge to add to an already skilful game.
International recognition came when he was selected to represent GB U20’s in the 2020 World Championships held in Vilnius, Lithuania, scoring in the 4-3 win after OT and penalties against Spain.
Coach Tait had this to say about signing Zach,
“I don’t think there was ever a question as to whether I would bring Zack in once I was told of his interest and after our conversations. He’s a player who has a bit of everything which gives me versatility when it comes to the line up. You forget he’s only 20 and has EIHL experience so you know the potential is there, it’s up to me to build on that”
Zach Milton commenting on signing for the Herd said,
“Really excited to get the season started after a long time coming. It’s always been exciting playing in that rink with the bison supports, I look forward to them making noise and supporting the boys on in September”.
