As exclusively revealed in this morning’s Basingstoke Gazette, the Basingstoke Bison are pleased to confirm the re-signing of Liam Morris for the 2021/22 season.
Morris returns for his fourth season in a Bison jersey after agreeing terms last summer for the season never happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
26 year-old Glenrothes-born Morris scored 6 goals and had 21 assists in the 2019/20 campaign for a season total of 27 points whilst serving 108 minutes in penalties.
In 2018/19, his debut season in British senior hockey, Liam iced 28 times for the Herd totalling 23 points and serving 117 minutes in penalties.
Prior to joining the Herd in 2018 Liam played for Northern Federals in the FHL and the Toronto Attack in the GMHL. He has also represented Great Britain at U20 level and Scotland at the Junior National Conference tournament at U13, U15 and U17 levels.
Coach Tait commenting on re-signing a fans favourite said,
“Bringing Mo back gives me versatility as I can slot him in up front or at the back. I love his effort and compete level and he leaves it on the ice every night. I think he’s matured massively as a player since he first arrived and i hope to see that progression continue this year”.
Standing 5’9” tall, weighing 163 lbs and a left-handed shot, Liam commenting on re-signing for the Herd said,
” After the way things ended in the 2019 / 20 season it only felt right to come back for another season and keep battling away at winning some silverware. Can’t wait to get back at it and look forward to seeing everyone soon”
Liam will once again wear the number 74 jersey for the Herd in 2021 / 22 and his light, dark and home warm-up jerseys are now available for supporters to have the opportunity to purchase and loan back to the club Liam’s jersey through our ever popular Jersey “Own & Loan” scheme, if you are interested in applying for one of Liam’s jerseys please send your application to hello@bstokebison.co.uk
