As exclusively announced this morning by Graham Merry in the Basingstoke Gazette, the Bison are pleased to confirm the news that Gosport-born forward Paul Petts has signed on for another season with the Herd.
Petts, who stands at 6’ 0”, weighs 76kg and shoots right handed, has played for the Bison at U16, U18 and U20 level in addition to 47 appearances for the Buffalo. During the 2015/16 & 2016/17 seasons he also iced on 19 occasions for the Solent Devils.
Although only 24 years old, Paul has already made 121 senior Bison appearances across 4 seasons, totalling 11 goals + 16 assists, with 54 penalty minutes.
Paul had this to say on extending his career with the Stampede,
“It’s been a long year off not being able to do anything and I’m looking forward to being in front of all you noisy fans again”,
Head Coach Tait commenting on re-signing Paul said,
“Having Pettsy back is great for us. He fits into his role well and regardless of who he’s out on the ice with plays the game the right way. I know I rely on him in any situation to make the right decisions”.
