With pre-season commencing tomorrow evening, the GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison can update fans with regards to our roster.
We are pleased to confirm that overseas players Gael & Marcel have arrived in Basingstoke and have international clearance to ice this weekend.
We have been asked about the future of Alex Sampford, and whilst Alex has taken part in summer training he will not be in the Bison line up at this current time as he focuses on life outside of hockey, we wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him back in the line up when the time is right.
Unfortunately Adam Jones whilst training this week has received an upper body injury and will be missing from the line up for the next few weeks.
We are also hoping to ice some guest players this weekend, Marcus Mitchell from Oxford City Stars, Carl Graham and our two recently announced “Prospects” players Roman Cathcart & Olllie Hemmings-Maher.
Coach Tait commenting on the weekend ahead said,
“Pre-Season gives us a chance to take a look at players of interest who we may look to bring in over the course of the year. Roman and Ollie have been practicing with us for a while now and I definitely see them starting to get an opportunity and some ice time at this level. Carl and Marcus are both big D men and have looked more than competent over the past few weeks, their contributions will benefit us in the long run”.
