The GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison will end 2022 and begin 2023 with National League fixtures against the Milton Keynes Lightning.

First up is an away game in MK on Friday night, face off is 7.30pm, with the return on New Years Day at the Silverdome Arena where face off will be 5.30pm.

MKL, at the time of writing, occupy top spot in the league standings with 47 points from 29 games. This leaves them one point ahead of both, title favourites Leeds Knights in 2nd and 3rd placed Peterborough Phantoms, although Leeds have 4 games in hand on Phantoms and MKL.

MK’s Player/Coach Tim Wallace leads their points scoring with 44 (13+32) from 26 appearances, just in front of Sean Norris on 42 (13+29) from 23, while Liam Stewart is the leading goal scorer with 26 from 23, as well as having 13 assists.

From a Bison point of view, the two games against Swindon epitomised our season thus far. Boxing Day saw an all too rare comprehensive 60 minute performance from face off to the final buzzer, whereas the following night, the complete opposite happened and the wheels came off in spectacular fashion, to leave the coaching staff and fans perplexed as to how things could go so wrong in a little over 24 hours.

So the players and fans need to dig deep, pull together, remain positive and hope Lady Luck is on our side this weekend.
