The GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison go into November hoping the new month brings a change in fortunes.  Standing in their way this weekend are Raiders IHC and Peterborough Phantoms.

On Saturday we welcome Raiders IHC to the Silverdome Arena for the first time this season, face off is 6.30pm.

As any Bison fan who travelled to the game in Romford or watched the Live stream last Sunday will have seen, Raiders Head Coach Sean Easton has assembled a roster, led by former Bison favourite Aaron Connolly, which has quality throughout and plays an exciting brand of hockey. Incidentally, Easton described their win over the Bison as their “first 60 minute game this year”

On Sunday the Herd make their first trip this season to Cambridgeshire, where they will face the Peterborough Phantoms at the Bretton rink, with the game facing off at 5.30pm.

Phantoms are riding high in the National League, sitting 2nd with 11 wins from 14 games, 2 pts behind the unbeaten Leeds Knights, and playing with a lot of confidence.

Coach Slava Koulikov is reaping the benefits of having a roster in which the majority have been part of the Phantoms set up for a good number of seasons and providing the team with a high level of continuity.

Two substantial challenges for the Bison to tackle, which on the back of our 3 most recent games it might appear we are unlikely to overcome.

However, Ash and the coaching staff have been working hard with the players at training this week to be prepared for these challenges.  The players will know they need to improve performances, naturally no one is happy with the current situation, but now more than ever is the time for the Bison fan base to be there supporting the team.

Note to DJ Bavy and the Wall of Sound, from the 1st puck drop to the final buzzer Saturday evening, you know what’s required……….………..Loud, Louder, Loudest.
