The Midweek Preview: Setting the scene with the Stampede
By Simon Church
It’s a midweek National League home game for the GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison, when Bristol Pitbulls visit the Silverdome Arena on Wednesday night, face off is 8.00pm.
New to the National League for 2022/23, Bristol initially found the transition difficult, however over the last few weeks there have been signs that they’re finding their hockey feet.
That vital first win came courtesy of a Penalty Shootout at home to Bees IHC, and was swiftly followed a week later by an outstanding 7-3 home win against Swindon Wildcats, a game which saw former Bison player Adam Harding make his long awaited debut for the Pitbulls.
Wednesday’s game will be the 4th meeting between the teams this season and although Bison have won the previous 3, they were close and hard fought encounters. Therefore fans of both teams will be anticipating another edge of the seat night of hockey.
Bison are coming into this game off the back of a narrow 3-4 defeat in Sheffield on Saturday night, so Head Coach Ashley Tait will be looking for a positive reaction from the players as they look to return to winning ways.
As always the Wall of Sound will be called upon to back the boys in their normal way………Loud, Louder, Loudest.
