This weekend your GalxC Cooling Services sponsored Basingstoke Bison are in National League action against the Bees and the Phantoms.

Saturday will see Slough-based Bees IHC visit the Silverdome for the last time of the regular season, face off is 6.30pm.

Our visitors currently sit 9th in the league and having played 35 games, they’ve accrued 23 points which leaves them 3 behind 8th placed Raiders IHC, who incidentally they play at home on Friday night in a crucial game for both teams.

Games between the Stampede and Bees are by tradition feisty and hard fought affairs, therefore we should expect Saturday to be no different.

On Sunday, Bison make the trip to Cambridgeshire to take on Peterborough Phantoms, face off at the Bretton rink is 5.30pm.

Phantoms occupy 6th place with 36 points from 36 games, this puts them 2 points ahead of the Bison although they have played 2 games less than us, which adds importance to Sunday’s game for both sides.

Head Coach Slava Koulikov has recently been able to welcome back from injury Luc Johnson and Nathan Salem to the lineup, in addition to Petr Stepanek re-signing as their 2nd import.

With Ash and the boys looking to respond to Wednesday’s disappointing defeat to MKL, certainly a local derby and a road trip to Peterborough mean early opportunities to get back to winning ways. Naturally, the Herd will need to be fully focused from start to finish in both games if this is to happen.

As always fans of the Bison can play their part by getting behind the team in the usual way,

Loud, Louder, Loudest.
