In what is the final regular season weekend of National League action, the GalxC Cooling Services sponsored Basingstoke Bison face Leeds Knights and Bees IHC.
The Knights ride into town on Saturday, when face off at the Silverdome aka the Shed of Dreams is the standard 18.30.
Leeds are currently in 3rd spot on 54 points from 46 games and find themselves locked in a battle for 3rd, 4th and 5th with Sheffield Steeldogs & MK Lightning. Just 2 points separate the teams, so the final placings may only be decided on Sunday evening when Leeds are at home to Sheffield and MKL visit Telford Tigers.
Star of the show for the Knights is 21 year old British forward Kieran Brown, who so far has amassed 107 points (54+53) from 46 National League games, at an average of 2.33 points per game.
On Sunday the Bison will make the short trip along the M4 to take on the Slough-based Bees IHC, face off at the Hangar is 17.00.
Bees are in 8th place on 31 points from 46 games, one point ahead of Raiders IHC in the struggle for the last play off spot. This coming weekend they are away to MKL on Saturday night, before returning home to play the Bison, whereas Raiders are at home to champions Telford and away to Peterborough Phantoms, therefore needing to win at least one of those 2 games to jump ahead of the Bees.
Import forward and assistant coach Dominik Gabaj has been the standout player for Bees this season, his 70 points (31+39) from 45 games puts him 31 points clear of the next highest, defender Edward Bradley who has accrued 39 points (11+28) from 44 games.
Matches between the Herd and the Bees always have a competitive edge to them, of course should the home side on Sunday need to win to secure 8th place, no doubt this would add some extra spice to the game.
Following on from last weekends excellent pair of wins, Coach Tait naturally will be looking for more of the same as the Bison aim to continue building momentum prior to the play offs.
Every Basingstoke Bison fan has a role to play this weekend in backing the boys regardless of whether you’re at a game or following on social media………………………Loud, Loudest, Louder.
