The GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison have two National League games this weekend, the opponent in both will be the Milton Keynes Lightning. Firstly, we welcome them to the Silverdome on Saturday night, face off is 6.30pm, before travelling to Buckinghamshire on Sunday for the 2nd game, face off will be 5.30pm.
MKL are captained by Dr Russell Cowley and he will no doubt receive a warm welcome from Bison fans, who remember the sterling efforts he gave to the team during the 2018/19 season, travelling from his Coventry home each week to play for the Herd.
MKL currently sit fourth in the league with 7 wins from 11 games, and are unbeaten in their last 4 games. Leading the scoring for them in the National League is Bobby Chamberlain, with 20 pts (9+11) from 9 games, followed by the aforementioned Dr Cowley on 16 pts (4+12).
The two teams have only played each other once so far this season, which was the re-scheduled Autumn Cup game in MK and was won by the home team.
Both teams have suffered from playing short benched this season, hopefully this weekend sees the sides at something approaching full strength. Following on from a much improved 60 minute performance in Sheffield last Sunday, the Bison will be looking to get back on the winning trail and begin to climb the table.
While Ash and the boys will be giving 100% from the opening face off to the final buzzer, the fans in the stands can play their part as well, by being loud and proud in supporting the boys on the ice, because after all, We are Family.
