It’s a White Rose double this weekend for the GalxC Cooling Services Basingstoke Bison, with home and away games against the Sheffield Steeldogs in the NIHL National League.
On Saturday we welcome the Steeldogs to the Silverdome for their second National league visit of the season, face off will be at 6.30pm. Sunday’s return game at Ice Sheffield has a 4.30pm face off.
Saturday’s game will be the fourth league meeting this season, the Steeldogs have been successful in the previous three.
Its also the first opportunity for the Bison family to donate goods to our Basingstoke Food Bank appeal, further details can be found by clicking here.
Sheffield Steeldogs occupy 4th place in the NIHL National League, winning 10 out of their 14 games and despite not having won since beating the Bison in Sheffield on the 21st November, they did enjoy the luxury of not playing at all last weekend.
Leading the way in the scoring chart for Sheffield is none other than Jason Hewitt, with an impressive 29 points (16+13), closely followed by another former Hull Pirates player, Matt Bissonnette on 24 (4+20) and local lad James Spurr next on 16 (5+11).
Last weekend the Bison got back to winning ways at home to Raiders IHC and made it a 3 point weekend following a penalty shootout loss in Romford on Sunday evening.
No doubt coach Tait will have had the boys working hard in training this week, looking to build on last weekends positive performances. Hopefully, new signing Jordan Lawday will be part of the Bison lineup this weekend.
Finally, it’s hoped DJ Bavy will have fought off the after affects of his Booster jab, to rouse the Wall of Sound into action on Saturday night.
